Laura Christian, biological mother of Laura Marie Rose, killed in an accident July 29, 2005, created the GM Recall Survivors page  on Facebook for the victims, families, and friends who were affected by defective General Motors vehicles. The page has become a community for the 3,000 plus members to share experiences and offer information. It is also a forum for complaints about the recalls, General Motors, and the automobile industry in general. December 3, 2014: Had an amazing and scary discussion with service at my local Chevy dealer about trying to get my ignition recall fixed- even though GM is sending the message that parts are available, my local dealer is telling me it is about 6 weeks to get the GM parts and some are still waiting longer, so the dealer has instead been able to get a “Kit” to “rebuild” the recalled parts instead of replacing them as GM promised in the recall, when will they ever learn to stop trying to cut corners.

November 30, 2014: Friday 11/21/2014 my 2007 Chevy cobalt lost steering and braking i slammed into a guard rail at 65 mph my airbags failed to deploy luckily i only sustained minor injuries. On sat 11/22/2014 I received the recall letter in my mail. And to add insult to injury I received a ticket for failing to control the vehicle which I intend to fight

October 22, 2014: Sitting here at the dealership waiting on the results from the diagnostic test. Guy just came and told me it was going to be another 5 hours because I have 14 codes popping up on the car and he seeds that long to figure out what’s wrong with it.

September 19, 2014: In 2005 my son Allen Wooten was involved in a terrible FATAL auto accident while driving his 2000 Chevy Malibu. His car went out of control on wet road witnesses said. He was going 45mph in a 45 zone. His car was hit 3 times by another car as my sons car spun out of control. His airbag did not deploy! We recently found out that his car is part of the ignition switch recall according to his VIN #… I can only wonder if this was the reason for my son’s accident.

September 12, 2014: I will never buy a car from GM. I have been waiting and waiting for my ordered parts to come in a for a while. I’m glad I found this page. It makes me sad knowing this could’ve been fixed a long time ago. RIP to those who have passed innocently.

September 8, 2014: Purchased a Chevy 2014 Traverse several months ago. 2nd time since purchase the car lost engine power on a busy highway.

September 3, 2014: I have been reading the Valakus report on GM. I am truly appalled at what I have read so far! Mr DeGorgio should spend life in the pen for his part in the ignition switch recall. He willfully and knowingly passed these parts even though they did not meet GM specifications.

August 7, 2014: When are the executives going to claim responsibility for their parts in the recall? Being a victim with brain injuries, I want criminal charges. I cant heal the scars on my brain that my saturn ion caused

June 27, 2014: Just wanted to say thank you for this page and for the wealth of information which you post daily! It has been a great source of solace since my poor brother senselessly died recently in a recalled Saturn Ion. Shame on GM!

June 12, 2014: my son was killed in a car crash in November 2004. He was the passenger in a Saturn Ion and is counted among the 13 victims GM is claiming. His girl friend Candice Anderson was driving the car, she survived, but was critically injured. My prayers go out to all who have been touched by this cruel injustice and I strive to do my part in learning more about it and educating others….I am interested in communicating with other survivors and doing what ever I can to help in any way.

June 10, 2014: So in the past weeks, I have seen a few of “my” car that I was in my accident in (Saturn Ion) on used car lots in the city where I live. Are they allowed to be resold?

May 18, 2014: My husband was killed in september. Ran off the road and hit a tree. No braking evident. No air bag deployment. We suspected he fell asleep or had a seizure. Received news of a possible GM recall a couple of months later, then received an official recall notice in february. (He was driving my 2005 Saturn ION)
